Freeman Field Komet

Very nice photograph of the Freeman Field Komet, fitted with the tail of 'White 54'. It is partially taken apart; the right wing, center fuselage decking and skid fairings being removed. The different lighting of the photograph shows the mottling on the front fuselage nicely, with some very large and small mottles. Note the small mottles on the canopy frame. The wing is smooth and slightly glossy, and appears to show a color demarcation. It looks like the usual fabric covering over the gun port was removed. The unit badge and nose coloring can be seen in detail here. The windows of the hangar door look very similar to those seen in a picture of 191301 (FE-500).
