Close-up of the canopy. Note the simple canopy hinge release mechanism: by rotating the T-shaped retaining pin from inside the cockpit, the hinge is released. Also of note are the remains of the tape that sealed the canopy during its years of storage. Compare this with the areas of red oxide primer showing through in the color photos. The 'Sauerstoff - Oel u. Fettfrei halten' marking identifies the oxygen filling point inside the cockpit.
