Me 163B 191904

The Komet as on display at St. Athan, pictured in August 1975. The colors appear identical to those at Colerne, a pure middle green and a dark grey with a purplish cast. A white Werknummer has been added. The lettering 'ME163 KOMET' can be seen on the nose, but it appears to be some 20-30 percent larger than seen at Colerne. Of note is the small pin projecting from the upper wing surface, just ahead and inboard of the Iron Cross. This is a 'flaps down' indicator.

Photograph donated to the Museum of Flight at East Fortune by anonymouse airman; scan kindly supplied by Grant Newman of the museum
