United States Army Air Forces Me 163B FE500 / T-2-500

Magazine caption reads: "Discussing design details of Me-163 shown here, are Author Healy (left) and J.V. Balch, ATSC rocket expert. Note generator propeller in craft's armor plate nose, also the retracted belly skid". In the background the Ju 290 is seen again, clearly placing this picture at the Wright Field Air Fair, and identifying the Komet as 191301. Interesting detail is the gun muzzle, not taped over as seen in many other pictures, and the hole just above and inboard of it, used for boresighting. This hole is seldom seen open.
