12 Squared models
| 12 Squared was one the few garage manufacturers that used an injection molding machine to produce models. The injection molding machine was quite small, so most kits were produced using several molds. One example is the XF-85 which was made with seven different molds. Production numbers were usually in the high-hundreds. 12 Squared always sold directly to the customer, via advertising in Fine Scale Modeler and perhaps other magazines. Judging from the advertsiments in Fine Scale Modeler, 12 Squared started in 1986, and stopped around 2000. The owner has plans to restart the business once he has more time.

| This kit probably wasn't given a catalog number. None appears on the header card. According to an advertisement in FSM of July 1989, this model could only be ordered for 1 dollar as an extra with another, regular kit.

A 1/72 NF-104 conversion set is reported in Steve Ginter's NF-104A book ('Air Force Legends Number 204: Lockheed NF-104A Aerospace Trainer', 1999). It is described as a test shot for an upcoming kit.
Miropet Brothers
According to John Burns' PAK-20, 12 Squared briefly used the brand name 'Miropet Brothers' to market three resin-cast kits produced by KPM-Prague. They were 1/72 models of the Bachem Ba-349A, Mikoyan-Gurevich I-270Z and Polikarpov I-17. The latter was reviewed in the December 1986 issue of Fine Scale Modeler. When I finally found that issue, it said 'Miropet Bros., Czechoslovakia, distributed by One over Twelve Squared, P.O. Box 21-567, Eagan, MN 55121'
